Raku Hero BowlThis 20" across slab form was hump molded over a skylight that an architect, visiting his frustrated wife, had left at the studio. It made a perfect bowl. The rest was slab trimmings applied to the edges and affixed for the foot. White glaze for the bowl and cobalt oxide for the trim completed the piece. Subsequent firing in a raku kiln, reduction in sawdust and dousing in cold water resulted in this heroic sized bowl. Status: still in the potter's personal collection. For MORE RAKU click here.
