Salt Glaze Casserole

This 6 1/2" tall, 10" wide, shallow domed casserole has no glaze on the outside except the pebbly, orange-peel coating created by the sodium rich atmosphere inside the salt firing kiln. The tan accents on the knob and the rim of the lid, and around the neck of the body, are brushed on rutile. It's a simple pot, clear glazed on the inside for easy cleaning, and it cooks marvelously.
