Salt Glaze Bowl With Rutile Accented Rim
This 2 3/4" high and 6 1/2" wide soup bowl is part of the salt fired Tureen, Ladle, and Bowl Set shown previously. You can almost touch the pebbled
effects of the salt firing, and the unusual running of the rutile in tongues of flame was just great luck.
Each bowl has its own individuality due to their slightly different positions in the swirling,
sodium-rich reduction atmosphere of the kiln. All in all, I'm happy I volunteered to help
Paul build his salt kiln.
Status: still in the potter's personal collection.
