Golden Rain Pitcher

This simple 6 1/2" pitcher is probably the only piece where I accomplished everything I started out wanting to accomplish: the flowing finger rings, the deep throat, the handle sized just right for the hand, the perfect balance when filled with liquid, the properly flared lip and dripless spout.

I fired it in a friend's backyard gas kiln, using a glaze of his called Golden Rain, which more than lived up to its name.

To this day it gives me joy when I pour wine for a friend or milk into my daughters' Cocoa Puffs.

Status: still in the potter's personal collection.
