montefin's Tenmoku Bear Claw Jar
Here again you can see the "life" given a pot by breathing
into the wet form, sealing the neck, and cutting it down when leather hard
to make the final mouth of the jar. The base of the jar was dipped into
white glaze, then the top and lid were dipped into Tenmoku glaze, a rich
coffee brown glaze with a deep blue haze in thick areas which ran in the kiln
giving interesting bear claw verticals to the basically horizontal design.
The applied ring lugs help to visually lift the pot even more.
Status: sold at a yard sale for $4,
